Existing interior Arts & Crafts style detailing inspired the design of the new interior finishes including this new stairway. The stairway guardrails integrate with the wainscot detailing around the stairway and beyond in the upstairs hallway. Notice the use of ceiling appliqués, which extends the design to three dimensions. |

Striking custom stained glass window presides over the new stair landing bathing stair and 2nd floor hallway with light. Oak wainscot and casing details extend down the 2nd floor hallway. These details replicate those of the 1st floor dining room and thereby help to integrate the Arts and Crafts details throughout the house. |

This sunny deck faces southwest and is accessible from the children’s rooms. The homeowners wanted their children to have an outdoor play space adjacent to their rooms. The deck provides fine views of the tree-lined street. |
| Originally this space in one of the children’s bedrooms was designed to be a built-in desk. During construction, after the space was framed out the homeowners thought that this spot would make a cozy reading nook. Some timely design work |
